Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”  (Joshua 1:9 NIV) I don’t know a person who hasn’t found themselves wandering through a Wilderness at some point in their lives.  Between childhood and adulthood, life will hit with an arsenal of unfair and uncontrollable circumstances. Some people I know, myself included, have travelled through multiple iterations of various Wilderness seasons.  Health issues, loss and grief, moving, identity challenges, peer pressure, financial difficulty, job stress, parenting, social media comparison traps, and relational issues can cause a person to be stranded…

    “He changes a desert into a pool of water and makes water flow out of dry ground.”  (Psalm 107:35 NLV) MORE WILDERNESS.  What do you do when you’ve been pushed to your limit and life’s circumstances keep falling apart all around you?  What do you do when you’ve escaped the chains of slavery, in whatever form it comes, but the journey of Freedom is accompanied with daily dependence?  What do you do when you are flat-out tired and scared and not sure you can “rough it” one more day?     Into the Wilderness: Part 1- Savoring Survival Mode

    Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. Isaiah 43:19 (ESV; emphasis mine)   WILDERNESS. This one word reflects so many connotations! I wonder, what image pops into your head when you picture yourself in the wilderness? Are you trudging through a scary, treacherous, and unknown landscape, like Indiana Jones, desperately trying to stay alive?
